RICHARD JOHN
A past recipient of the Australian Government’s CDF Fellowship, Richard is a freelance composer and musical director based in London.
His musicals include Terminal Four Play; The Railway Children; Wind In The Willows; The Centre; The Adventures of Sinbad The Sailor and The Legend Of Snow White. Scores for plays include: Deadly Game; Kiss Of The Spiderwoman; Sunrise and The Cenci
Musical Direction includes Pacific Overtures; Merrily We Roll Along; The Full Monty; Corrugation Road; The Midnight Gang and many productions in the West End, Australia, and UK.
Richard is currently working on a number of commissions, including three new Musical Theatre works. Please explore this site for information on recent output and activity.
Richard trained at the University of Western Australia as a classical pianist, followed by a brief period of study with Geoffrey Parsons.
After undertaking a busy international career as a concert performer and professional accompanist in Australia, Asia, UK, Italy, Holland and Spain Richard expanded his profile to include musical direction and composition for theatre and musical theatre.
